My views on journ!

My name is Tatum Holloway. I am in first year, studying journalism at Rhodes University. I love to write and talk and this is why I think that journalism is a fantastic career! I would like to stay at Rhodes and get my honours. I intend to go into political journalism and in my lifetime I would like to experience careers in TV, radio and print journalism. I hate being stuck in one place or position for any length of time and this is why I intend to move around in my career a lot.
I am a very passionate person and I have a desire to make a difference in the world. I think that journalism is a wonderful tool with which to do this. I love people and think that they have the right to know the truth about issues that affect them. I also love thinking and in my writing I would love to be able to stimulate thought and challenge people’s views.
We have decided to create a blog about our views and experiences as students entering the journalism field. Our blog is called "what the hell?" and here we intend to write about our experiences as amateur journalists. This means that the blog will be aimed and students, those studying journalism in particular. I am a very easy going, fun-loving person and I want this to be apparent in my blogging, which means that we intend to keep a light hearted tone and make sure that we never get too whiney or serious. We also want our blog to have a hint of humour in it this will avoid too much negativity and complaining.
I think that the world is a wonderful place, a place that is filled with lots of beauty and amazing things. I get irritated with people who turn petty issues into big deals and I think that there is so many good things to concentrate on and this is what we intend to do. There is also a lot of pain and suffering in the world and I enjoy reflecting and learning about these things. I don’t feel that this blog is an appropriate place for serious issues as of the time being. We will be open to change as time goes on but for now we plan to keep it light-hearted.
This blog should be a fun-read, and I am sure that many students around the world will be able to identify with the issues we will be discussing. It should also be a very good learning experience for us and I am looking forward to writing and expressing our opinions on this blog!
